Grayson Smith is a truly inspiring little boy, known online for his incredible battle with a terminal illness and life-limiting conditions — but cruel internet trolls have been making sickening jokes at this brave boy’s expense.
Grayson’s mom, Jenny, shares her son’s story via Facebook page, Grayson’s Story. Sadly, vile internet trolls recently stole photos from the page to create a mocking meme, captioned: “That face you make when your parents are actually cousins.”
Jenny, who is from Alabama, US, is fighting publishers and website owners to remove the viral image, but she has since spoken out to express her devastation and deep disappointment over the incident.
“Some people think it’s funny, but I don’t find humor in hurting someone else for a laugh. Honestly, I’m just so ashamed that people actually find it to be entertaining. It’s disgusting.”
At birth, Grayson was diagnosed with multiple conditions including heart problems and congenital birth defects, with doctors telling Grayson’s parents that he would only survive a week.
Incredibly, this little fighter just celebrated his third birthday, battling his way through 24 heart and brain surgeries and living in hospice care.
Understandably, this amazing little boy has a serious amount of followers online, and Jenny has had unbelievable support in her attempts to get the disgusting meme of her son taken offline.
“The support we’ve felt is overwhelming. We have to stick together and fight back,” she said, “We’re not the first family that’s been through this, and were not going to be the last.”
