A tragic ending for these best friends
10-year-old Gage Carter ran after his dog Stitch ran out of the door at their home which was opened by a family friend. Stitch was known to run into the yard and street whenever there was an opportunity to do so...
Young Gage obviously ran after his dog to prevent him from being hurt, but the two ended up being hit by a 69-year-old woman driving on the street - they were both killed. She was not drunk or under the influence of any drugs...they simply came out of nowhere.
"Tonight God took another angel way too soon," his family wrote on their official GoFundMe page. "Gage Carter was chasing his dog (his best friend) that had got loose and they both were hit by a truck and taken from us way too soon. The family is going to need us all to pull together and help them through this VERY hard time. Gage being only 10 years old did not have any life insurance. The family is very thankful for any help you can give. Even sharing this post is a way to help. Thank you.
Thankfully, the world has rallied behind the heartbroken family, and donated more than twice what they've asked for to cover costs. It's such a tragedy for a family to lose their son and his best friend, but we're sure they're still playing together. Rest in paradise Gage and Stitch!
