This device looks like something out of Star Trek
Waverly labs is a tech company that came up with a prototype for a real-time translating device. The product is called the Pilot and is being funded via crowdfunding.
The product has been compared to the babel fish, a fictional alien fish that provides real-time translation.
When it comes to the languages that it will translate, only French, Italian and Spanish have been announced until now.
You can get a discount if you pre-order the Pilot and pay only $129 instead of the regular price: $250-$300. You will also get it by the end of this fall.
A cool feature of the Pilot its that it can work without a Wi-Fi connection, so you can take it with you no matter where you go.
But as with many other crowdfunded projects, we will have to wait until the product is released to see if it works as announced. We have been told that "it is only going to work in certain conditions," so time will tell in the end.
