The best nursing home ever
There's a beautifully quant nursing home in Chagrin Falls, Ohio which was designed alzheimerâs and dementia patients feel like they've been transported back to 1940.
The rooms are designed like full homes with a porch and front lawn, all leading to a golf course at the end of the facility. Designers used special fiber optics to create the ceiling, allowing it to provide a daylight and starry night atmosphere.
âEvery little thing you see, the wall color, the paint, actually has a therapeutic benefit, a therapeutic value,â CEO Jean Makesh said. The environment is a peaceful one for those suffering from mental disabilities.
Anxiety, anger, and depression can all be reduced when a person is in a calming environment, which was the idea Jean had when creating the nursing home.
Daily classes are also provided to help patients remain aware and mobile. âI take them back to those memories. I create a time capsule. It enables them to embrace everything around them,â Makesh told reporters.
Makesh believes having an environment such as the one he's created will help slow the progression of similar diseases on a long term scale. We sure wouldn't mind living here when we retire!
